Embedded Linux Systems Developer & Integrator – Inflight Connectivity (M/F)

Full-time, based in Ermont, Île-de-France, France.


We work on programs serving both internal needs and major aerospace customers, focusing on the development and maintenance of embedded IP routers that play a key role in enabling efficient inflight connectivity systems, including new LEO systems (Starlink, OneWeb, Amazon LEO, SkyFive), GEO systems (Gogo Ku, Viasat Ka), and L-Band systems (SwiftBroadband, Iridium).

These systems are based on:

  • A full Linux OS based on Debian or OpenWRT
  • Open-source components
  • Proprietary software stacks with strong security and performance requirements
  • Advanced implementation of networking features

You will join a team of embedded systems experts in a demanding and stimulating technical environment.

Our customers include both well-known aerospace industry players and airline fleet operators seeking to provide their passengers with the most innovative solutions, including, for example, live TV over satellite IP links.

As part of this context, our team is looking for an Embedded Linux Engineer with strong experience in Debian and/or OpenWRT systems, as well as solid knowledge of IP networking.


Your Responsibilities


You will contribute throughout the entire product lifecycle, playing a key role across development, integration, and system engineering:

-          Maintenance & Security

                o   Maintain and enhance existing software

                o   Participate in security updates

                o   Identify and remediate vulnerabilities

-          Development & Integration

              o   Develop new features (scripts, system services)

              o   Integrate open-source and proprietary components into the embedded environment

              o   Optimize system performance

-          Systems & Embedded Software

               o   Port the solution to new hardware platforms

               o   Participate in Debian and OpenWRT version upgrades

               o   Adapt and configure system services and low-level components

-          Networking

               o   Work on the IP networking stack (routing, traffic flows)

               o   Diagnose and analyze network-related issues

-          IP Networking (TCP/IP, routing)

-          Debugging tools (tcpdump, strace, etc.)

Experience

-          2+ years of experience in Embedded Linux development or integration

-          Strong proficiency with Debian and/or OpenWRT environments

-          Experience in firmware development (set-top boxes, routers, gateways, etc.) is a plus

Technical Skills

-          Solid Linux fundamentals (processes, services, networking)

-          Understanding of embedded systems

-          Knowledge of IP networking

Soft Skills

-          Strong analytical skills and attention to detail (critical environment)

-          Technical autonomy

-          Team spirit and ability to collaborate across functions

-          Ability to thrive in a demanding environment

Languages

-          Professional proficiency in English is required
